Chicago’s Meat Wave have just dropped the video for “That’s Alright,” their new single off of the freshly cut Meat Wave/Lifestyles split.
Fans of the trio will be pleased upon first watch (and listen) as “That’s Alright” packs in the classic Midwest sound: jagged, grainy, pulse-racing to the finish, garage punk. But wait… what’s this? A twist?!
“You constant breeze; It’s only you and me, and that’s alright…”
Tender lyrics, a hopeful ode? Definitely not their typical content, and the band agrees–
“That’s Alright” is an ode to love amidst an often evil, terrible world we live in. It is the only song in the Meat Wave discography that has any semblance of positivity or light, and we intend to keep it that way. Enjoy.” (via DIYmag)
