Fundraisers, Candlelight Vigil Set For Beloved Cleveland Journalist Nikki Delamotte

Cleveland, OH—As a reporter for cleveland.com, Nikki Delamotte took great joy and pride in covering all facets of the local arts and culture community, and shining a light on the people and places that make Cleveland such a rich place to live. You can read some of her favorite stories at this Twitter thread.

In the wake of her tragic passing, that community is gathering together not only to celebrate her life—and amplify her kindness, sweetness and amazing ability to be a connector—but also to ease any stress on her loved ones by holding online and in-person fundraisers.

Nikki Delamotte GoFundMe

An online GoFundMe has been set up to benefit her mother, Jo (and her mom’s cat, Sadie), her boyfriend Bob (and their cats, Phoebe Lee and Bailey). All money raised from this GoFundMe will be spent first on memorial services, and then on whatever Jo and Bob need going forward to care for themselves and their cats.

In-Person Fundraiser/Raffle

The Side Quest is generously opening its doors to the Cleveland community on Friday night. In addition to a silent auction and benefit raffle, with all proceeds going to Jo and Bob, the bar is also donating 15% of sales to them, and will have an open mic set up for anyone who would like to speak or share memories and stories.

Raffle donations can be dropped off at:
Coven, 1384 Bonnieview, Lakewood, OH 44107

  • Wednesday, November 14, noon-9 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 15, noon-9 p.m.

Raffle sponsors include: Coven, Lake Witch, MUSIC SAVES, Fear’s Confections, Tangled Earth Arts, Venus In Aquarius Apothica, C. M. Manfredi’s Emporium of Wonders, A Christmas Story House, STAR POP vintage + modern, Clover & Moon, On The Rise Artisan Breads, and Angela Oster.
