Continuously perfecting the art of punk rock storytelling, I Believe In Julio are once again bringing us another collection of loud, fast tales this weekend.
The “Julio” in question is the prolific Grand Rapids local Julio Gomez, who has been releasing music under this moniker since the mid-2000’s.
His latest album An Episodic Memory is out this Saturday, July 9th on 1980 Records. To celebrate, the band will be playing The Pyramid Scheme alongside FLUSHED, Bong Mountain, & Lambo.
The lyric video for the single “Big Trucks” sets the scene nicely. The song hits you with catchy guitar and bass lines from the get go and an almost stream of consciousness lyrical style that draws just as heavily from ’60s folk troubadours as it does punk rock. Watch & listen below:
It’ll cost you a measly $6 to get into the show where you can pick up a tape in person. RSVP and grab advance tickets via the Facebook event.
If you can’t make it to Grand Rapids you can still pre-order the tape and stream “Big Trucks” all you want over at the 1980 Records shop.
