Today, Midwest Action is proud to premiere the single and music video for Jennifer Hall‘s “In The Water.”
“In The Water” is a follow-up to Hall’s acclaimed 2015 self-titled EP. Her music takes on a raw, confessional identity, reflective of her tumultuous childhood in the suburbs of Chicago. Although the subject matter is often heavy, her songs contain massive hooks that shine with optimism, and “In The Water” is no exception. At the chorus, Hall’s voice grows into a glistening growl that’s guaranteed to give you chills. Accompanying “In The Water” is a beautiful, choreographed music video, in which two silhouetted figures dance. Jennifer Hall is truly a powerhouse vocalist, and the instrumentation here does nothing but lift her up.

The video represents an inner struggle. When you’re trying to push yourself to change, but you want to change and progress faster than you actually are.
