Watch This: “Shut It Down” by Cordoba

We first discovered this amazing Chicago Jazz-Fusion sextet thanks to their performance at last years DZ Fest in Hickory Hills. Cordoba‘s live act had us hooked from the start.

Their latest music video for the song “Shut It Down” is a beautiful ode to Chicago’s cultural and physical landscape featuring dancers, performance art, and some truly gorgeous footage of the city itself. Watch it below:

Directed & edited by Brandon Holmes with the help and artistic vision of Cordoba, the video pairs nicely with the slow building, bittersweet, jazzy tone of the song. Layers of horns, keys, guitars, and percussion weave in and out of each other effortlessly while Brianna Tong’s soulful vocals float on top of it all. The song is laid back groove with a deeper message once you take the time to listen to it.

You can catch the band playing “Shut It Down” live and in-person tomorrow night at Sleeping Village with Jeˈraf, and the McKenna/Harris/Ali Trio for only $5. Pick up your tickets here and RSVP via Facebook.
