Watch This: “Girl With Bones” by Basement Family – Video Premiere

Fuzzed out, yet “catchy as hell”, Chicago three-piece Basement Family are breathing new life into a two year old song with a breathtaking new music video—just in time for a two week long East-Coast tour!

You may know the song “Girl With Bones” as the opener of the band’s self-titled release out on Maximum Pelt Records. The 6 song 12″ LP has been an MWA favorite since we picked it up. It’s a loud, noisy, and surprisingly dance-able affair that effortlessly skirts the line between catchy garage rock and ’90s sludge rock guitar noodling.

The video is a literal hot mess, or maybe a cold one… it’s messy. Shot and directed by Jeff Perlman who not only does some amazing video work for fellow Chicago blog/video channel Emulsion but also plays in his own fair share of local acts such as Sonny Falls. Watch it below and get a little sloppy while you’re at it.

John Waters would be proud. If that bit of weirdness wasn’t enough then check out this artfully collaged tour flyer and catch the band on the road this Summer.

Choose YOUR own adventure and catch the band live on one of their many dates across the Midwest and not-so-far East! We’re looking forward to their homecoming show in July with Cafe Racer, Lamon Manuel, and SPVD. Listen to more and keep up with the Basement Fam via the links below.
