On Monday, July 29th, SuperKnova celebrated the release of her debut LP American Queers to a packed house at The Empty Bottle. The high energy set was one of the best we’ve seen from guitarist, producer, and musical mastermind Ellie Kim, the sole creative force also known as SuperKnova.
Ellie used the open stage to its full potential, ripping guitar solos on top of amps and using the instrument as if it were an extension of her body. Once the earth-shaking bass and drum loops hit there was a full on dance party going.
Her silky smooth vocals floated on top of it all as she powered through new songs we’ve already come to know and love like “Glitter and Blood”, “Serotonin Serenade”, “Genderfluid Jubilee” and more. As an encore, she performed a reimagined version of “Night’s a Bitch” from 2017’s Splendor Dysphoria.
