He’s a self-taught guitarist, drummer, pianist and whatever else you can name. He’s got a voice that purrs sweet nothings into your ear before he growls a sex-fueled refrain that burns like a shot of whiskey on the way down. He’s pretty good looking to boot. Cleveland, Ohio native and multi-instrumentalist, Marcus Alan Ward, is certainly turning heads. While playing small shows around the greater Ohio area, Marcus Alan Ward is also gaining attention by opening up for large acts like Bloc Party.
“Little Sunshine” is the newest single since Ward released his first LP, Last Night I Grew Tentacles off of his own Long Division Recordings in 2014. Old soul musings reminiscent of Al Green meet modern synths combine to form a steamy beat that says, “Come hither”. The simplistic black and white video for the “Little Sunshine” lets the music speak for itself and also shows off the many talents of Ward, who is featured performing a number of instruments.
I don’t know about you, but is it getting hot in here? Watch and feel for yourself.
