Watch This: “Turning Off The Headlights” by Bliss Nova – Video Premiere

Toledo, Ohio synthpop duo, Bliss Nova, are debuting a new song and music video today, exclusively on Midwest Action. “Turning Off The Headlights” is from Bliss Nova’s forthcoming debut album, Going Places, scheduled to drop on November 8th.

The previously released singles (“Hafta,” “Chance”) are full of poppy melodies and dancey grooves, but “Turning Off The Headlights” delves into more the group’s melancholic, downtempo side. It’s light and airy at the same time as it’s heavy and inward-thinking, due to the thoughtful filmography and color choices. “Turning Off The Headlights” was made to feel like what it’s about: late-night aimless introspection.

Of the video, drummer Joel Trzcinski shared the following:

The challenge was that we had to have everything done in that single night, so it ended up being our first successful all-night video shoot. The whole crew was amazing though, and we would shift from sharing laughs to locking into our moody characters. A really memorable experience, and I think the director and everyone involved perfectly captured the vibe of the track.

The video was directed by Adam Brown of Shadow Dream Films and Logan Floyd served as Director of Photography. Yarisel Estrada played the main character in the video. The album will be available on vinyl and can be pre-ordered at blissnovamusic.com.
