Give It a Spin: “Teggsas” by Half Gringa

In advance of an upcoming full band tour, Half Gringa is sharing their brand new, quietly intense song, “Teggsas.” Front woman Izzy Olive’s voice is at the forefront of the track, strong and resolute, sitting on top of a comfortable bed of soft instrumentation. “Teggsas” has a subtlety that ever-so-slowly grows into the glowing, layered orchestration that the song ends on. Everything about this track feels deliberate, from the instrumentation to the lyricism. Repeated cries of “how could you” end the song before it fades out with synthesizer.

“Teggsas” is mournful at the same time as it’s beautiful. It’s intense and ethereal. It feels full of contrast while at the same time wholeheartedly cohesive.

On top of everything else that makes “Teggsas” great, it boasts one of the most beautiful harmonies of the word “fajitas” that I’ve ever heard. Give it a spin below:
