Give It a Spin: “Something Teenage” by Dream Version

We’ve been big fans of Chicago’s Dream Version and their album Fight Fair since we first heard it, so we were happy to see them release a brand new single called “Something Teenage” just a few weeks ago. The raucous post-punk tinged track is an instant favorite in on our book.

The subtle synth swells will transport you back to the days of New Order while the bass and guitar work channels that Joy Division tone. It’s upbeat, dance-able, and just damn fun.  Listen below and draw your own conclusions:

If this is any indication of the direction the band is moving in consider us very excited to hear more new music from Dream Version. Catch the band live in Chicago and hot off the tail of a recent Midwestern tour this weekend at Lincoln Hall (Opening for Rooney!) or at the end of the month at The Hideout. Details below.
