Give It a Spin: “Keyhole” by NIIGHTS

In advance of their upcoming album, Cleveland’s NIIGHTS have released “Keyhole,” an energetic, genre-melding song.

“Keyhole” kicks off with rippin’ guitar and a heavy chug that contrasts Jenna’s sweet vocals. At the chorus, light acoustic guitar is added to the mix, giving it a bit more depth. “Keyhole” feels a little bit pop punk, a little bit dream pop, and a whole lot guitar rock. Sonically, there’s a lot of contrast in the track, whether it be between the heavy guitar and the sweet vocals, or–more broadly speaking–in the loud-soft-loud structure of the song altogether.

“Keyhole” is so damn catchy, from its guitar melodies to its shoegazey vocals. Give it a spin below:

“Keyhole” will appear on the outfit’s upcoming sophomore album, Hellebores, due February 2019. Pre-order Hellebores here.
