Well, it looks like it’s been almost half a year since our last Crowdfund Crawler. Now that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been plenty of Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and PledgeMusic campaigns worth your hard-earned cash; it just means that we’ve been slacking a bit. For our triumphant return to the fine art of telling you how to spend your money, we’re taking a trip to Duluth, Minnesota.
Up in Duluth resides Tin Can Gin, a bluegrass/folk quintet that manages to stay rooted in traditional arrangements while incorporating a taste of the punk rock mentality. On the release of their s/t debut, Tin Can Gin has spent the past three years touring the Midwest. Now, heading back to Minnesota to record their aptly titled follow-up, Coming Home, they are looking for a little help.
Tin Can Gin is looking to raise $4,000 to help with the costs of studio time, mixing, mastering, album art, and the physical CD production. For the recording portion of the project, the band will be returning to Sacred Heart Studios, a 118 year-old Gothic cathedral in Duluth. How cool is that?
In exchange for your pledge, the group is offering a variety of tempting perks from t-shirts, posters, and flasks to custom recorded videos and private acoustic shows. Just over $1,000 has been raised to this point, but there are still more than three weeks to go in the campaign, giving Tin Can Gin plenty of time to meet their goal.
If you’ve got some extra cash this month, pledge a little to this worthy cause and keep on supporting sweet Midwestern music!
