If you’re unfamiliar with the name, The Traveling Suitcase is a rock trio from Oshkosh, WI who has spent the last several years writing music and playing shows all over the Midwest. Made up of drummer/vocalist Nicole Rae, bassist/keyboardist Brandon Domer, and guitarist Bill Grasley, The Traveling Suitcase backs their unconventional dynamic with energetic and emotional indie-rock music led by Rae’s vibrant vocals.
Currently gearing up to record their next album, the group has taken to Kickstarter to help raise the funds. The upcoming record follows the 2012 release, All My Friends, and the b-sides/live album, Live Clippings, from last February.
The trio is looking to raise the very specific amount of $12,516 to cover the costs of recording, mixing, mastering, and licensing as well as vinyl and CD production. With 23 days left of the campaign they’ve secured over $4,000 in pledges.
In exchange for pledging, the group is offering a whole mess of enticing perks from standard band merch like CDs, vinyl, t-shirts and stickers to limited items like handwritten lyric books, a custom guitar pedal, acoustic guitar and hand-painted bass drum head.
Support local music by pledging if you can and if your wallet is feeling a little light, support The Traveling Suitcase on the road by checking out one of their upcoming Midwest dates.
