If you’re an artist and you’ve ever tried to book a show outside of your hometown, you might have noticed what a pain in the ass it can be. Then, even after you get on a bill, you sometimes have no idea who else you’re playing with. Well, The Midwest Orbit Series is working to help ease this headache for up and coming hip hop artists in the Midwest and in the process create amazing lineups that will guarantee packed houses.
The series/mini tour is set to take place over one weekend where they’ll be covering Chicago, The Twin Cities, and ending it all in Milwaukee. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for artists to breach into nearby markets, gain exposure to new venues, and share fan bases.
This tour’s final line up is pretty sick, if I do say so myself, with each night featuring Mally, WebsterX, and Kweku Collins. But what makes this series very cool is that each night the order will rotate so that each artist can headline in their hometown.
While this is a great opportunity for these artists to get out and create support for their latest tracks, it is also an opportunity to see three of the fastest rising stars in indie hip hop all together on one stage.
The Midwest Orbit Series are working towards having this occur every few months, with new artists from each city, with each show rotating the lineup positioning and having artists headline in their hometown.
Here’s the upcoming tour line up so you can be sure to catch the show closest to you:
