Chicago’s Lincoln Hall has all you need to end January on a high note. Locals Goldford and Tall Walker are performing at one of the city’s best venues tonight, and the evening promises great music from some powerful local musicians.
Equal parts gritty and soulful, Goldford‘s voice is unforgettable. His debut album, Shed a Little Light, was released in late summer of 2013 and showcases his unique “rock n’ soul” stylings. He mixes Americana folk with country rhythm to create his arrangements. After adding in a touch of funk, Goldford’s music is primed for a kick ass performance at Lincoln Hall.
Tall Walker, a three-piece indie rock outfit, mixes pop sensibilities with rock influences. Brought to life by singer & guitarrist Nick Bays and Chris Hershman, Tall Walker spent most of 2012 in the fetal stages. With the addition of Ben Johnson on drums, the group came full circle and released a self-titled EP in December. Recently listed as one of RedEye’s 15 Chicago Artists to Watch in ’14, if you’re still new to this band, tonight’s show is a good place to start.
Also playing this evening are Chicago outfit Mighty Fox and headliner Caleb Hawley of New York.
