Over the next three weeks the small town of Woodstock, IL will be host to some big names in indie music thanks to the concert series Bright Future Band Frenzy. Hosted by Indie Inn Productions, the series features a show each weekend leading up to Record Store Day on April 19 and the line-up is stacked with Midwest Action favorites.
The festivities kick off tonight at Waverly Ballroom with Cousin Dud and Archie Powell & The Exports. Check out the details on tonight’s show and get the full concert series details below.
Opening tonight’s show are Chicago rockers Cousin Dud. Last month, the group celebrated the release of their latest record, The Faded with a show at the Empty Bottle. In a preview of that show we wrote that the album “perfectly encapsulates the vibe of a Midwestern summer and leaves you longing for nights spent in front of the campfire, drink in hand”, and as our Midwestern spring limps along, we can definitely still relate.
Closing out tonight’s event are the always incredible Archie Powell & The Exports. Right before last year’s impressive fall tour, the group had spent time in the studio working on their third LP and follow-up to 2012’s Great Ideas In Action, Back In Black. We’re highly anticipating the new record (out 4/28) and the three preview tracks aren’t making the waiting any easier. Check out “Everything’s Fucked” from the upcoming LP, below.
Tickets for all Bright Future Band Frenzy shows are just $8 online or $10 at the door. Purchase links and more information can be found here.
