This is it, the final installment of our Review in Photography: Best of 2013, and of course we saved the best for last. These are some my favorite photos of the year and some of my favorite concert moments ever. It’s been a remarkable year for live music.
Artists I never thought I would see live have reunited and have proved to be better than ever. Some of the up-and-coming acts I’ve seen this year have quickly become some of my favorites, and have released some brilliant albums this year.
Most importantly in my hometown of Chicago, the DIY music scene is experiencing a renaissance. With new independent labels popping up all the time and putting out brilliant local music, Chicago is truly an amazing place to be a musician and a music lover. I’ll spare you the rest of my musings on this years music scene and save that for another time, here’s the stuff you came here for:
Thank you all for checking out my work and for supporting our humble little music blog. Watching our viewership rise and seeing new people discover us everyday is what keeps us doing this. That and the fact that we love what we do! We’ll see you in 2014 with even more great photography, take care of yourselves, take of each other, and be sure to say hi if you see me snapping away at a local gig.
As an added bonus, to show our appreciation for our viewers, we’re giving away a limited edition signed print! Just leave a comment on any of the Review in Photography: The Best of 2013 posts, tell us your favorite photo or just your favorite live show of the year and we’ll pick one winner to receive an original print of their choice! Don’t forget to look back at Part One & Part Two to see the whole series. A winner will be selected at random on January 3rd, 2014!
Cheers!
