Chicago’s Pool Holograph have always skirted the line between dreamy shoegaze and pop music with style and grace. They’re back with a new single and their second LP as a full band, Transparent World, due in early October on Jurassic Pop Records.
The driving force behind the walls of sound Pool Holograph create is singer/songwriter Wyatt Grant, who began the band as a solo project back in 2010. They’ve since evolved into a full band affair with the addition of Zach Stuckman (bass) and brothers Jake Stolz (drums) & Paul Stolz (guitar), who also play in the Chicago garage-pop group VARSITY.
Their latest track “Heat Map” is a slow-building, hypnotic tune with layers of atmospheric guitars and vocal harmonies. Luckily, there are plenty of hooks along the way to keep you from wandering too far into the noisy abyss. Stream it below and let it work its magic on you.
Pre-Order Transparent World today and be one of the lucky folks to receive the limited edition first run on transparent cassette (there are only 50 available!)
Catch the band live and in-person at Cole’s Bar (2338 N. Milwaukee Ave.) this Saturday, August 19th for their single-release show with Growl (Austin, TX) and Broken Car Radio—RSVP on Facebook.
