Today’s about love, or maybe not, according to the newest video from Paul Moody & The Revelators, “Get Drunk or Get Married”.
The track is off of Moody’s debut record, The Island. The video follows Paul into a bar, on stage, and to the set of a Dr. Fun commercial. The mellow folk tune features some impressive dance moves and *near nudity*. “Get Drunk or Get Married” is a little slow and drunk itself, almost reflective of Moody’s choice for the evening, with the horns cutting through and acting like little moments of clarity.
Grab a beer (or an engagement ring?) and watch the premiere of “Get Drunk or Get Married”:
Of the video, Moody says the following:
In the early dark hours of a frigid January morning, during a particularly restless period of his life – Paul Moody returned home from a night of drinking too much whiskey with an old friend, and wrote and recorded a demo of, ‘Get Drunk or Get Married.’ He promptly forgot about it. The song was rediscovered about a month later, and was soon being recorded for Paul Moody and the Revelators debut EP, The Island. The band collaborated with Chicago film maker Justin Flocco to make a documentary about Paul’s life, which became the music video for Get Drunk or Get Married.
Today, I’m choosing to get drunk. How about you?
