We’re not just saying this because we’re sponsoring the show, but DAMN is the line-up good.
Sure to get the evening off to a good start are regular rockers, Kinda Good. We’re no strangers to Kinda Good’s music; their singer actually made an appearance at Midwest Action Acoustic at Cafe Mustache back in March. Today (July 23rd) marked the release of Kinda Good’s first official single in about a year, and it just oozes rock. Check out “17 Black Letters” below:
Hailing from Indianapolis is blues rock outfit Brother O’ Brother. Their bandcamp is filled to the brim with loud ‘n’ rowdy tracks, each one just as dynamic as the one that preceded it. This is an exciting time for Brother O’ Brother – they released a new music video (below) earlier this month, have vinyl on the way (keep checking – it’ll be any day), and are scheduled to play ORANGJE 2014 alongside 15+ other Indiana bands.
We’re moving from one high-energy set to another, this time adding a third member – and keys! North by North, one of the city’s most buzzed-about bands, put out an awesome double LP, Something Wicked, in January of this year and backs it up with a great live show. The trio compose bold, riff-heavy garage rock only made better with the accompaniment of Nate Girard’s boisterous vocals. The group’s two newest tracks are below. Listen to them. Love them.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Chicago’s The Addies take the stage. Blending garage rock with the right amount of sensibilities, The Addies make music that’s as catchy as it is fuzzy, , and easy to drink along to. Check out my personal favorite, “Take You Home”, if you happen to stumble over to their site, and watch a live video of “Feeling Down” off of their self-titled release below:
This shows starts and ends with rock and energy and is not to be missed. Catch these four awesome acts at the next Midwest Action sponsored show at Emporium on July 24th. Don’t miss Brother O’ Brother, North by North, and the Addies, and Kinda Good for the low, low price of FREE. RSVP here, and we’ll see you for a good time on Thursday night.
