MWA Approved: Spring Awakening – June 7-9

Spring Awakening Music Festival is scheduled for June 7-9 2019 at the massive new location; Poplar Creek in Hoffman Estates. We’re very much looking forward to the good weather, good music, and good vibes of the weekend. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to during this festival:

Friday

Gabriel & Dresden | The Hangar Stage | 5:45PM-7:00PM

Gabriel & Dresden are a power duo in the trance world. With hits like “Tracking Treasure Down” or the more recent “Only Road,” you are guaranteed to walk out of this show with a smile on your face. Their first and only appearance at the Spring Awakening Music Festival was back in 2012.

The Classic: “Tracking Treasure Down” by Gabriel & Dresden

Shiba San | The Function Stage | 8:30PM-10:00PM

Leaving behind a 15-year long career in the French Hip-Hop Scene Shiba San was drawn towards the sounds of Chicago house. Using the soul of Chicago house music, Shiba used his knowledge of hip-hop productions to create an exciting and unique sound. It’s fitting to have him close out one of the stages in the city that helped inspire who he is today.

The Blow Up: “Okay” by Shiba San

Saturday

Noizu | The Function Stage | 4:00PM-5:00PM

This is a “do not miss” performer guaranteed to make you move those hips. The LA producer is making an early appearance, so make sure you get to the festival early. Winning the support of artists like Tchami, Malaa, and Chris Lake, this show will be one for the books.

Hip Shaker: “Dance” by Noizu

Liquid Stranger | The Hangar Stage | 7:30PM-8:45PM

This Swedish-born electronic musician has a very unique style. Many of his tracks are experimental and almost psychedelic. He has been quoted saying that a major influence for his music are vintage video games, which, to me as a lifelong gamer, is impressive on its own. He will take you on a journey so deep into your own mind that you will never be the same again.

Don’t Get Lost: “Prime” by Liquid Stranger

Sunday

Nora En Pure | The Hangar Stage | 7:15PM-8:30PM

Her melodic deep house sounds will have you put into a state of euphoria. With the Sunset set you will be filled with emotions you’ve only felt with the birth of your first baby or your puppy’s first birthday. This South African born, Swiss raised producer will reaffirm your idea that music can help create peace on Earth. There will be magic in the air.

Relax: “Polynesia” by Nora En Pure

Claptone | The Function Stage | 8:30PM-10:00PM

Chicago welcomes one of the German producer/djs to close down the festival at the Function Stage. We will–of course–be expecting the mysterious golden beak mask. With one of the biggest names in electronic music, you will be led to a close by beautiful and driving bass lines. People will be talking about this performance for months to come.

End Here: “No Eyes” by Claptone Ft. Jaws
