The summer heat finally made it to Chicago, just in time for this weekend’s Pitchfork Music Festival at Union Park. The festival staple will return from July 19th through the 21st and will host a diverse line-up of fan-favorites, up-and-comers, and local talent ranging from twee indie pop to rap to Japanese disco-punk. What we’re trying to say is that there’s a lot to take in over the course of Pitchfork 2019‘s three days. To help sort through an incredible line-up, we’re sharing some of our Midwest-centric favorites day-by-day.
After two days in the books at Pitchfork, kick back on Sunday and check out the following:
Dreezy | 1:00PM at the Green Stage
After a quiet few years since her 2016 debut, Dreezy is back with her 2019 release, Big Dreez, and a Pitchfork performance that’s sure to bring the energy. It’s early in the day, so we’ll all be fresh-faced and ready to party.
Tasha | 2:45PM at the Blue Stage
It’s supposed to be a toasty weekend, and we’re welcoming Tasha’s chill tunes in the afternoon. Tasha is truly a poet, and her cozy 2018 release, Alone at Last, is full of gentle tunes that’ll fit the summer atmosphere.
Whitney | 6:15PM at the Green Stage
This performance will be Whitney’s first since their announcement of Forever Turned Around. We’re looking forward to hearing some old tunes, some new tunes, and hopefully some unreleased tunes from the Smith Westerns alumni as they start to bring the weekend to a close.
Stay tuned throughout the week for more of our “Pitchfork Must-Sees” and be sure to keep up with us this weekend as we post photos and other goodies from the festival grounds. And of course, visit us as we table at the CHIRP Record Fair!
