Midwest Action was on hand to celebrate Kodakrome‘s album release last Tuesday at Emporium Wicker Park. Hopefully you’ve already picked up their MWA tape release Midwest Charmer and are ready for some more. They were joined by fellow locals Horrible and Bow & Spear. Check out the photos and follow the links at the bottom of the page to order their brand new self-titled album.

Luckily, Horrible did not live up to their name, in fact I think they just like to announce it at the beginning of their sets to throw people off. The photos only capture some of the energy this erratic punk band brought to the show. Keep an eye out for them.
Bow & Spear continued the night with their unique brand of shoegazing pop-punk we’ve come to love here at MWA. They focused their set on songs from their recent album Bad at Fun but threw in a few classic B&S songs like “Paper Tones” from their debut LP Into.
Kodakrome closed out their release show strong as ever and even snuck in a quick encore at the behest of the crowd. The band knows how to rip through a song in under minute and leave you wanting more.
Kodakrome by Kodakrome is available for download via bandcamp, pick up a CD from the band in person (or wait for them to pop up online).
