Chicago-based singer-songwriter Christopher Gilbert, under the moniker Luno, has been quietly writing and recording music for the past decade. With the completion of his latest record, Null Life, Gilbert felt that it was finally time to move beyond his bedroom and introduce his dreamy brand of indie-pop to the world.
Released October 1st, Null Life is as melancholy as it is hypnotizingly beautiful. While a wholly cohesive effort, one of the album’s standout tracks is the piano-driven “Cold Spring”. An excellent example of Gilbert’s strengths as a songwriter, “Cold Spring” showcases the unique voice of Luno while simultaneously channeling moments that make for a truly memorable indie-pop song.
