Sure, fall is upon us, but what’s garage rock for if not extending the summer?
Enter Frozen Pizza Disaster and their debut Crust Hunks, a record that fans of fellow Windy City bands Twin Peaks, The Orwells and Slushy should fall in love with. Much like those other jangle jockeys, FPD is capable of putting together the kind of bright rocker that feels like taking coastal highways with the top down in the middle of July. The closest we come to sunburn on Crust Hunks is with its sixth and final track, “Carlos Boozer.” You press play, I’ll pull the car ’round front.
If you’d like your summer to last just a little bit longer, you can listen to and purchase a copy of Frozen Pizza Disaster’s excellent debut album here (available on cassette and digital download).
