Boy, Chicago’s Baby Money & the Down Payments sure do know how to pull at your heartstrings. At their November 21st show, the outfit debuted a brand spankin’ new song guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye this holiday season.
In “I Miss You,” front woman Pamela Maurer waxes poetic about gifts she’s unable to give–whether due to finances, emotional distance, or physical distance–to a loved one. Her vocals shine on “I Miss You” against minimal instrumentation and soft brush work. It’s more vulnerable than their prior releases with Maurer front and center, singing sweetly and delicately during the verses and flexing her characteristic growl at the chorus.
Hug your loved ones tight, and give “I Miss You” a spin below:
Wipe that single tear from your eye, and see Baby Money & the Down Payments at the Montrose Saloon on December 1st. RSVP here. While we can’t guarantee they’ll get you the moon on a string, we can guarantee you’ll hear some great music.
