It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Chicago’s Superknova, so it’s damn good to see the brand new song, “Glitter and Blood.”
It’s a dark, driving track, fronted by Ellie’s vocals and a steady drum machine beat—glimpses of superhuman guitar work pop up in between bassy beats and dramatic pauses. As the chorus hits, Ellie’s vocals explode alongside a wash of electronic instrumentation. “Glitter and Blood” has some of the same vibes as Splendor Dysphoria, but as Ellie says herself, these new songs are “a little louder and a little prouder (just like me).”
