My love affair with Baraboo, Wisconsin’s PHOX has been going strong since 2013. It’s awesome to see one of my (many) favorite tracks remixed by Chicago producer COFRESI. With COFRESI’s touch, the song takes on an “old-timey radio” nostalgia with a bit of a tropical touch. Electronic flourishes and reverb have got me feeling the Vampire Weekend vibes, but he also takes care not to lose PHOX’s quirkiness. Martin’s vocals shine in the remix just as they did in the original folk-pop single.

Which do you prefer? It’s hard to decide when both options are so awesome, which is a good problem to have. Hats off to COFRESI for a respectable remix!
