It’s that time of year again when the smells of Autumn drift in on a crisp and cool breeze. There is just something cozy and nostalgic about Fall — Don’t you think?
We here at MWA firmly believe that Autumn in the Midwest has its own unique soundtrack. That’s why I have decided to present a different song everyday for the next few months that has that Midwestern “Fall Sound” we all love and embrace.
“Old Man Skies” by Oshwa
There is something about crisp clean tone guitar with hammer-ons, pull offs, and spazzy dissonance that makes me think Fall. It could also be the experimental nature of the tune and the yode-like singing that somehow screams “Fall”. Whatever it is, here’s a fantastic track from one of my favorite bands in Chicago, Oshwa, called “Old Man Skies”.
