It hardly seems like two years ago that Mutts took to Kickstarter to raise $10,000 for the recording and production of their double LP, Separation Anxiety/Object Permanence. I guess time flies when you’re releasing records, putting out music videos, and playing 150+ shows a year. Having spent this past January writing music for the first time since 2012, Mutts is ready to head back into the studio to record their fourth full-length LP, Fuel Your Delusion vol. Whaaaat?, and they’re asking for your help.
The trio is looking to raise $13,755 to cover all the costs involved with putting out a record including recording, mixing, mastering, vinyl/CD production, and a PR campaign. With 19 days left to pledge, Mutts has secured just under $2,000 leaving them with a ways to go, but plenty of time to do it in.
Along with acting as a pre-order for a copy of the new record on CD or vinyl, Mutts is offering up a handful of more unique perks from a “thank you” in the liner notes and Mike’s studio journal to a solo or full band performance in your home. For the highest pledge category of $3,000+ you can put the guys to work on anything from landscaping and plumbing to bookkeeping or even teaching driver’s ed. As the site states, “If it’s legal, we’ll take care of it“.
Mutts is on the road in Texas right now for SXSW, but will be swinging back up through the Midwest next week and throughout April. If you can’t give anything to their Kickstarter, make sure to support them on the road by heading out to one of their shows.
