Chicago’s Twin Peaks do garage rock right – loud, fuzzy, and catchy as hell. After self-recording and releasing their debut album, Sunken, at age 19, the group split for college. With one semester behind them, the guys decided to drop out and jump back into music.
After a performance at SXSW and nods from publications like Esquire and NME, Aquarium Drunkard’s Autumn Tone Records took the opportunity to re-release the group’s debut. Packed with distortion and youthful angst, Sunken is the type of first release that all young rock and roll bands should strive for.
For all the proof that you’ll need, take a listen to the Sunken track, “Fast Eddie” with the track’s official music video, below.
Reissued on July 9th, Sunken was fortunate enough to receive the vinyl treatment. You can pick up a copy of the LP through Autumn Tone‘s webstore for just $17.99. And if vinyl isn’t your thing, you can always download a digital copy for $7.99.
The 18+ release show kicks off at 9:00 PM this Wednesday, 7/24, at Schuba’s Tavern – 3159 N Southport. Twin Peaks will be supported by fellow Chicagoans, Sister Crystals and Today’s Hits. Tickets are just $10, and can be picked up at the door or online in advance.
