The Rabbit returns! Schubas will host the musician as he heads back to Chicago from his adventures out East. Celebrating the release of “So Long” and an upcoming album, Phillip-Michael Scales of Briar Rabbit will perform with a full band for the first time in over a year.
Opening for Briar Rabbit is powerful female-fronted outfit, Lying Delilah. With Northwest Indiana roots and a strong Chicago following, Lying Delilah has burst onto the music scene. Since 2005, Jodi, Steve, and Andrew have been releasing music together. Their singer-songwriter feel is emphasized by Jodi’s strong vocals and melodic piano, but shouldn’t be pigeonholed into the singer-songwriter genre. Between the influences of these three musicians, it’s difficult to nail down an exact classification.
Briar Rabbit’s full-length album, From Your Bones, will be released on January 21st. Watch him perform the first single, “So Long”, below.
Make sure to get your fix of Briar Rabbit’s thoughtful tunes while they’re in town; the band won’t be playing Chicago again until January. If you’re not in the city, Briar Rabbit is making the Midwest rounds. Check out the dates below:
