a strange little party by 8-bit crEEps — Album Premiere

It’s Friday and what better time for a strange little party? The latest 4-track EP from Chicago psychedelic dance rockers 8-bit crEEPs is some fine Friday night music. The title track “a strange little party” is a stone cold groove driven by a crunchy bass line and some infectious ’80s synth sounds.

“I hate driving cars (part II)” slows things down a bit—don’t worry if you haven’t heard part 1 yet, you won’t be lost. Just make sure you listen all the way to the song’s monumental climax.

The second half of party keeps the energy up. “perfect teeth” starts off a catchy indie rock tune and slowly transports you to a spacey, psychedelic world full of lush sonic landscapes. By the end, the song sounds like the beginning of a Rush song (in the best way possible).

Closing out this 4-track affair is “who you know”, an upbeat rocker full of some heavy riffs and that driving rock sound we’ve come to love from 8-bit crEEps. Stream the a strange little party in its entirety below and buy the digital download via bandcamp.

Catch the band live on Wednesday, September 5th at Empty Bottle with Lollygagger and Red Scarves for the official EP Release show (which is sure to be a strange little party of it’s own). RSVP via Facebook and add this new EP to all of your summer party playlists!
