Not everyone’s stories start the same way; for Chicago-based artist Pamela Staker, it started with numbers. After entering University of Illinois declaring a math major, Staker reconsidered, changed her major to painting, and never looked back.
Staker is an abstract artist based out of Chicago. Available on her website are a multitude of paintings, but Staker coins herself as more of a mixed media artist. Her paintings are characterized by vibrant color choices, gestural strokes, and contrasting organic and geometric elements. Though in control of her pieces, Staker is also not afraid to let her paintings act like paintings and embraces drip accents.
Check out some of Pamela Staker’s work below, and enjoy the bold palette and abstract compositions. If you enjoy her work, there are many, many more available on her website and social channels.
