MWA Approved: Wild Hands at Tonic Room – 5/24

Nothing ushers in the lovely summer weather better than an evening of folk music. Midwest Action was happy to partner with Chicago’s Tonic Room to bring you exactly what you’re looking for on a gorgeous Saturday night – booze and music.

Suburban acoustic singer-songwriter, Mitch McLaughlin, will take the stage first. Mitch first introduced his blues-infused acoustic folk to us  just last February with the release of his debut EP. He recently released “Apart”, the first single from his upcoming effort, and we premiered the track right here on Midwest Action.

Local acoustic duo, Bittersweet Drive, will be up next. Their 2012 EP, Cold Were the Winds, features lush harmonies and delicately strummed acoustic guitar. Energetic and sweet, this pair are of musicians will certainly start the evening off on a light note. Check out their music below:

Making the trip from North Dakota to the open arms (and ears!) of the Tonic Room is Americana outfit, Wild Hands. We’re big Wild Hands fans over here, and if you don’t believe us, we have the interviews and video premieres to prove it. Distance has, thus far, prevented us from enjoying the warmth and energy of the outfit’s live show – until now. Banjos, basses, and myriad instruments in hand, the quartet of gentlemen are going to show us how ‘folk rock’ Minot really is.

So, stay out a little late and be a little reckless with Mitch McLaughlin, Bittersweet Drive and Wild Hands. You can pick up tickets here, or simply pay an $8 cover. Doors at 8:00PM, show at 8:30, 21+. We’re looking forward to enjoying a night of good music with you all.
