MWA Approved: The Steepwater Band at Beachland Tavern – 11/28

Tonight, the Windy City meets the Forest City as The Steepwater Band brings its gritty rock to the Beachland Tavern. The band, which formed in ’98, have obviously worshiped at the church of blues rock, but also display a diversified sound cultivated over the past sixteen years, which embraces everything from Americana to psychedelic. Their most recent release, Live & Humble, was recorded last year Ace Bar in Chicago after 200 nights on the tour of the same name. The album showcases a diverse cross-section of the band’s discography, as well as a version of John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom” that roars right into Zeppelin’s “How Many More Times.” Check it out right here:

Support this evening will be provided by Thirteen Cadillacs, a band that grabs its name from an old story about the King, and blues rockers Physical Rockett. Doors will open at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available here.
