Midwest Action Acoustic at Cafe Mustache

We had such a good time at our last Cafe Mustache acoustic show, that we just had to do it again. This time around, we grabbed some new artists and are ready for a night of blues, folk, rock, and who knows what else. Leading off the night will be Silas James Mishler, followed by Andrew Kent Wittler. Headlining the evening is none other than Chicago’s own rock star, Aly Jados.

Opening the night is Chicago transplant, Silas James Mishler of Kinda Good & Fat Hot. While not exactly your standard hard rocker, he delivers a quirky brand of indie blues that people can’t seem to get enough of – the brand of blues straight out of Alexandria, IN. Check out Silas’s vocals and guitar work in the EP below; it’s fuzzy and garage-y in all the right ways. We might even venture to say it’s Kinda Good.

Taking the stage next is Andrew Kent Wittler. This native Midwesterner grabbed his guitar at the age of 15 and never looked back, and after one pass of his debut album, we support his decision. Since 2011, Drew’s called Chicago home. Here, he has concentrated on writing and recording, and funneled those efforts into one hell of a debut. The Worrier and The Widow was released in May of 2012, and features folk-infused acoustic and thoughtful lyrics. His music is nothing short of pleasant, but really so much more than that, too. You can see for yourself below:

Aly Jados is no stranger to Cafe Mustache, or really any popular Chicago venue. She’s gigged all over the city and is definitely earning her spot alongside Chicago’s best rockers. Aly’s powerful musicianship lead to a spot as a Midwest Action featured artist in February, and now, she’s taking Cafe Mustache’s small stage in a big way. With her impressive guitar riffs and even more impressive pipes, she’s sure to end this evening on a high note.

The party at Cafe Mustache will kick off at 9:00PM, but you’ll definitely want to get there early to grab yourself a seat. You can chill in the cafe with a nice cup of coffee, some snacks, or an ice cold beer.

The show is FREE, but don’t forget to toss some cash in the donation jar for these local musicians making great music. RSVP on Facebook, and we’ll see you there!
