I first listened to Elliot Moss when I saw him perform live at the Cleveland House of Blues earlier this year while he was touring North America supporting Cold War Kids. What caught my attention was the way this guy could enrapture an audience with his unique jazzy electro-beats and silky smooth tenor.

When I went home that night, I tried describing him to friends: “He’s kind of Imogen Heap, with a little Chet Faker. You know Lo-Fang? A little bit of that, too.” But when it comes down to it, Elliot Moss stands out from the crowd. At just 21 years old, he basically wrote, played, recorded and mixed his ethereal debut album, Highspeeds in 2014.

After all that hard work, Moss is hitting the road on his first headlining tour. He and his 5-piece band, which includes bassist extraordinaire, Evan Marien, take over the Beachland Tavern in Cleveland, Ohio Thursday, May 21 with Pretty Little Head and Corey Grand opening. Tickets are $10 / $12 DOS with doors at 7:30. Catch him in a small setting while you can in a smaller setting, because this guy is going places.

As if you need any more convincing, check out this live video of Elliot Moss performing songs “Highspeeds” and “Faraday Cage” with his band for WXPK radio.
