We’re taking you to the most southern state in the Midwest – yup, you got it. We’re talking Missouri: the state whose official state musical instrument is the fiddle. You know that means a state who cranks out good music. What better way to show off the state’s musical abilities than with blues rock trio Trampled Under Foot who have been expertly playing the genre arguably their whole lives.
These blues rock siblings grew up listening and living the blues, so it’s no wonder they were crowned champions of International Blues Challenge in 2008 and thus bringing them to international attention. They have been scooping up awards left and right and in 2013 debuted at #1 on the blues charts with their album Badlands.
I love the blues, but I tend to go more old school than new school (Muddy Waters, Etta James, Clapton), but when I heard Trampled Under Foot, you can’t help but get into it. Their newest album Badlands is a top-to-bottom journey of awesome blues rock very true to the old school. Their newest music video for “Bad Bad Feeling” is great example of everything that is awesome about the blues, and they execute it perfectly.
If you find yourself grooving on this in the true blues fashion (eyes closed and head swaying), then we recommend catching the trio live. Trampled Under Foot is going to shake The Beat Kitchen on Saturday Feb 8th alongside The Ben Miller Band out of Joplin, Missouri. This show is going to be a rockin’ good time. If you want to get some pre-sale tickets then you need to click right HERE and snag yourself a pair (grab a friend, don’t go alone!).
