MWA Video Premiere: “The Wait” by The Modern Electric

Art is never easy. It takes an investment of blood, sweat and tears to create something meaningful. A true artist would die for their art, but would an artist tear apart the very thing that makes them live? It is in this way that art and love are kindred, often overcoming a person completely and creating a struggle of head and heart and occasionally, inciting an inexplicable madness. In Cleveland quartet The Modern Electric‘s newest video, The Wait, the band explores the feelings one could experience on account of both.

As 2015 unfolds, the cinematic pop rockers have set out to create an album that challenges its members not only as musicians, but as visual artists. Each month they will release a song off forthcoming Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which was produced by Mike McCarthy, coupled with a Sundance-worthy music video written and directed by the band. As the third in this twelve-month installment, The Wait finds The Modern Electric in Bad Racket Recording Studio where firecracker frontman Garrett Komyati is powering through a song with his explosive vigor. What wasn’t expected was the demolition of the piano and the tender mercy that overcomes our frontman as he searches for something deep within its core.

Will he find what he’s looking for? You’ll have to give this video a watch to find out!

With music that is explosive and creates an emotional connection to its listeners as well as videos that are simply captivating, we’re sure big things are to come for The Modern Electric. If this song is any indication of what’s to come for this Cleveland band, we’ll find them playing arenas nationwide in no time.

Stay up-to-date with the band as they continue their journey through the release of Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, flexing their muscles as both musical and cinematic masterminds. You’ll want to be able to say, “I knew them when” as they accept their Sundance awards, right?
