MWA Approved: Carbon Tigers at Schubas – 10/3

Fridays have a certain… reputation to uphold. It’s the fun day of the week, the day to finally breathe a sigh of relief and let loose, have a beer, and get down ‘n’ dirty partying. Make the most of your Friday and head out to Schubas Tavern for, you guessed it, beer, music, and good times. “Down ‘n’ dirty partying” is sure to follow.

A great roster of Midwestern musicians are on the roster for this Friday evening, with Milwaukee’s Boy Blue scheduled to kick off the show. There’s no one more fit to get a crowd amp’d up. The outfit’s electronic pop melodies are sure to get hips swayin’ and butts shakin’ from the first note.

As if you weren’t dance-rocking enough already, Blane Fonda take the stage following Boy Blue. Blane Fonda’s funky bass, synth accents, and deep baritone vocals are all you need to maintain maximum energy levels. If you were dancing at a level 3 or 4, we’re going to need you to turn it up a bit for Blane Fonda.

Headlining are Chicago darlings, Carbon Tigers, celebrating the release of their newest single “Out of Heaven”. This is the first new material released from the outfit since their 2013 EP, The Wars at Home. Glimmering guitar accompanies Chris Wienke’s warm vocals in a song touching on themes of relationships and separation. The recorded version of this song is lush and layered, and I can only imagine how wonderfully it’d fill Schubas.

Damn – this is going to be a really fun show. We’re looking forward to good times on Friday and hope you are too. RSVP on Facebook, and pick up tickets here. (The last time I saw Carbon Tigers, the venue sold out – so play it smart.) The show will run you $10 in advance; $12 at the door; 18+; starts at 10PM.
