Chicago producer, singer and songwriter, Rachel Sarah Thomas, musically known as K. Serra (stylized KSRA), will be at the Empty Bottle this Wednesday to celebrate the release of her limited edition EP, Petra. This EP is truly limited, as it will not be available anywhere outside of K. Serra’s upcoming live shows. Now that’s an incentive to head out and enjoy some live music!

Thomas puts her dreamy and often soulful vocal tracks to electro-pop instrumentation that will bring you back to the best of ‘80s and ‘90s pop. Emulation of the past, however, doesn’t seem to hinder K. Serra in the creation of something truly unique. You can hear this impressively accurate throwback in the track Radio Waves – K. Serra’s homage to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey – below.

The show kicks off this Wednesday, 8/7, at 9:00 PM at the Empty Bottle – 1035 N Western. Opening for K. Serra will be Love and Radiation and When Clouds Attack, with a DJ set by Magicks. You can check out the event on Facebook, here.

Tickets will cost you $8, but you can get into the show for absolutely nothing by RSVPing to the event through Ticketweb by 7:00 PM Wednesday. Make sure to submit for each person attending as each RSVP is good for only one entry.
