It feels almost too soon for North by North to be releasing new music. I mean, we’re still spinning their 18-track January release, Something Wicked, but here we are with new North by North goodness – and it just feels right.

I’ve heard “Mama Gold” once or twice at shows, and finally the outfit has released a version for their fans to enjoy outside of the live space. Led by shrill guitar, the song grows into a garagey, blues rock piece quickly.

The track isn’t a huge departure from Something Wicked, and that’s totally perfect! That album was the first step in defining their sound, and I feel like the next set of releases will refine what the outfit knows works well.

North by North is a prolific local outfit, seemingly always creating and genuinely enjoying every second of it. To catch NxN’s awesome live show, check out one (or all) of their upcoming performances below and stay in touch via social media. Now that we’ve gushed, what do you think of their new tracks?
