“Dark Star”, released in May of 2015, is a stark contrast to its companion track, “Pistoletta”. Where “Pistoletta” was a hard-hitting rock track, “Dark Star” feels a bit more deliberate and embraces the ambient side of music more than any North by North song I’ve heard yet. It’s an interesting change of pace for the usually energetic outfit.
Of course, one thing that hasn’t changed is North by North’s strong narrative foundation in each song – do yourself a favor and pull up the lyrics for “Dark Star”. They’re wonderfully abstract and fitting of the overarching tone of the song.
