American Opera tour with The Orphan, The Poet and Mike Mains & The Branches

John Bee of American Opera embarked on yet another tour earlier in the month. Touring alongside him are great Midwestern bands, Mike Mains & The Branches and The Orphan, The Poet. They won’t hit the Midwest until about a week into November, giving us time to get appropriately amped.

The Orphan, The Poet is a melodic rock outfit based out of Dayton, OH. Over the past three years, TOTP has released two EPs, In Brevity (2009) and Translating (2011). They’re preparing something new, though, and have recently released a music video from their forthcoming album. Check out “Thieves Beneath The Bed” below:

Hailing from Texas, and now settled in Michigan, are indie rockers Mike Mains & the Branches. Sophomore album, Calm Down, Everything Is Fine, is due for release early 2014. The band has truly spent 2013 on the road, gigging steadily since February. And with a live show that is “bursting with contagious energy”, we can’t say we mind.

American Opera seems to be a Midwestern staple. Hailing from Saginaw, Michigan, the folk rocker is a perfect example of the Midwestern work ethic. He released the EP Your Songs this past July alongside a stint on the Warped Tour Acoustic Stage and his Great Lakes Tour. John Bee’s vocal stylings and lyricism make American Opera a truly unforgettable act.

The tour kicked off on October 17 in Pittsburgh and will finally hit the Midwest for a few dates from November 7-10. Very rarely does a line-up make as much sense as this one, so take advantage of the chance to see these three great bands perform together.

UPCOMING SHOWS:
November 7 at the Demo in St Louis, MO
November 8 at Penny Road Pub in Barrington, IL
November 9 at The Gear in Franklin, IN
November 10 at Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids, MI
