“M2057 GANG” Limited Edition Collection by Maria Pinto

Maria Pinto is a Chicago-based designer, well-known for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, and with designs featured on popular TV show, Empire.

Announced at the end of September was Pinto’s latest limited edition collection, M2057 GANG. Coinciding with Chicago’s inaugural Architecture Biennial, this collection was inspired by the work of architect Jeanne Gang and photographed by Sandro Miller.

From Pinto:

“M2057 GANG: Reveal, Architecture of the Body” plays with the relationship between garment and body form, and explores how women reveal and conceal their bodies.

With the timeliness of the Architecture Biennial, I wanted to create a small collection that allowed me to explore the body in new ways, much like how Jeanne Gang explores environments for her work.

I very much love how this collection is a marriage of structured stitching and architectural influences with elegant design and soft materials. This collection drips sophistication without being too stuffy another one for the wish list.

If you’re so inclined, browse the M2057 GANG collection and treat yourself to something local.
